Q1–Whether KVs are opened Area-wise/District-wise/State-wise?

No.

Q2–How are the KVs under Civil/Defence sectors opened?

The proposals received in prescribed format from the concerned Distt. Magistrate/Defence authorities are examined. On receipt of the feasibility report from the Assistant Commissioner concerned, the new KVs are opened after obtaining approval of Cabinet. The recurring/non-recurring expenditure of such KVs are born by the Sangathan out of GIA received from Govt. of India.

Q3–How the KVs under Project/Higher Learning sectors are opened?

The proposals received in prescribed format from the Project Authorities are examined at Hqrs. Office and on receipt of the feasibility report from the Assistant Commissioner concerned as well as finalization of MOU the KVs are opened with the approval of Chairman, KVS. The recurring/non-recurring expenditure of such KVs are born by the Project Authorities. The same formalities are followed for opening KVs under Institute of Higher Learning.

Q4–Whether the requirement of land for opening new KVs throughout India is same or it differs?

Yes, It differs from place to place according to categorization of locality viz. metropolitan/Hilly Terrain/Urban/Rural.

Q5–What is the composition of the Vidyalaya Management Committee?

Apart from the Chairman, VMC, there are 13 members in the VMC including the Principal of the said KV as the Member Secretary of VMC.

Q7–What is the Grievance Redressal Mechanism of the schools?

The staff working in the Kendriya Vidyalayas can submit there grievance to the Assitant Commissioner of the R.O. concerned and central grievance cell as well for redressal.

Q8–How many KVs are there in the country?

There are 1084 Kendriya Vidyalayas in the country as on 01.01.2012.

Q9–How many KVs are there abroad?

There are 03 Kendriya Vidyalayas abroad i.e. at Moscow, Kathmandu & Tehran as on 01.01.2012.

Q10–How many Regional Offices of KVS are there in the country?

There are 18 Regional Offices of KVS in the country as on 01.01.2012.

Q11–How many Zonal Institute for Education & Training (ZIETs) are there of KVS?

There are 5 ZIETs of KVS as on 01.01.2012 i.e. one each at Chandigarh, Gwalior, Mysore, Mumbai & Bhubaneswar.

Q12–In which classes are the students enrolled?

The students are enrolled from class I to XII subject to availability of seats.

 Q13–What are the streams available to the students?

Class I to X-None Class XI – XII — Science,Commerce and Humanities.
