Incentive Increment on Achieving excellence in sports events of National/ International importance.
The OM issued by DOP&T on 18th May 2010,clarifies that sports persons participating in sporting events (both individual and team events) of national and international importance will be treated as having achieved excellence for the purpose of grant of increment(s) if he/she achieves lst 2nd or 3rd position in the finals of sporting events if more than three individuals or teams have participated in the events. If only three or less individuals or teams have participated in the finals of a sporting event, the sportsperson/team achieving first position will be treated as having achieved excellence.
It is directed to refer to this Department’s OM No.6/1/85-Pay-1 dated 16.7.85 in terms of which employees are entitled to grant of incentive increment on achieving excellence in sports events of national/ international importance.
The question of defining the term ‘Excellence’ for grant of increment to a government servant has been examined in consultation with the D/Youth Affairs & Sports. It is clarified that sports persons participating in sporting events (both individual and team events) of national and international importance will be treated as having achieved excellence for the purpose of grant of increment(s) if he/she achieves 1st, 2nd or 3rd position in the finals of sporting events if more than three individuals or teams have participated in the events. i was granted five special increments in 5 th pay commission 200*5 for spors still getting the same rate . present grade pay is 4600 rs. pls intimate if there is any change.
6th pay recomendation to sports persons in postal department
sir,
please clarify at present rate of increment to sportspersons in postal department as per 6th pay recommendations. now I am receiving Rs.100/- only per increment, Now My grade pay Rs.2800/- as per grade pay Rs.2800/- I am eligible to draw Rs.250/- per increment ( analogy of incentive increment awarded for promoting small family norms )

I recurited under mertious sportsman quota (POWERLIFTING) in postal deparment at 1997 as a postal assistant.after entering in the department I Participated several National and International Championship and I won gold, silver medals respectively
I received maximum 5 incentive increments. now I am getting Rs100/- for one increment total I am getting Rs.500/- (Five increments) as per 5th pay recommendations.
after 6th pay recommendation the same increment rates receiving. no change in my sports incentive increments rates .there is any change in sports incentive increments.
Now My grade pay is Rs.2800/- please intimate whether there is any change please intimate to me
