Union Cabinet Approved 6 percent hike in DA from July 2015

The Union Cabinet today approved the proposal of increasing Dearness Allowance by 6% from existing 113% to 119%. The union cabinet today approved some important decisions. Hiking the rate of dearness allowance from July 2015 is one of these key proposal which has been approved today.

Dearness allowance (DA) to be paid from July 2015 has been raised to 119 per cent from 113 per cent, which will benefit over one crore government employees and pensioners.

The DA hike will take effect from 1st July 2015, DA is paid as proportion of the basic pay. Payment of Arrears for the Two months for July and August will be made after the issuance of necessary order. The order for payment of DA to central government employees and pensioners will be issued by Ministry of Finance soon.

The hike is in accordance with the accepted formula based on the recommendations of the 6th Pay Commission, which will benefit 48 lakh government employees and 55 lakh pensioners
