7th CPC Minimum wage and Fitment Formula worked out by Staff Side NCJCM is Justified

Confederation of Central Government Employees and Workers Karnataka State has posted an article in its blog regarding the minimum wage. It claimed that the Minimum Wage  worked out by staff side NCJCM is justified by Retail Price List published by the Directorate of Economics & Statistics, since the rates quoted for some items by Staff Side NCJCM is lower than the prices provided by Directorate of Economics & Statistics. Hence it hopes that the minimum wage to be  fixed at Rs.26000/- and Fitment formula will may range from 2.72 time to 3.72 times .. The article is given below..

The prices of many items provided by the Staff side JCM are lower than the retail prices provided by the Government agency . Hence the Minimum wage of Rs 20,000/- is justified for the erstwhile Group “D” with effect from 1/1/15 using Dr Aykroyd formula . After weightage of 25% for Group “C” it works out to Rs 26,000/- .

The fitment formula may range from 2.72 times to 3.72 depending upon the weightage.

The Sixth Central Pay Commission has recommended a minimum wage of Rs 6600/- per month against the demand of Rs 10,000/- per month as worked out by Staff side of JCM, Today the minimum need based wage works out to Rs 26,000/ per month.

    Sir, i am Govt employed in scale of BP – 10380 GP -2800. what will eligible pay structure as per 7th paycommission please.

    I think it is reasonable good idea. But, if we have an imagination about the future variations in the Index, it will have a lesser impact. This has happened in almost all the Pay Commission recommendations of the past. The longer duration of constituting, recommending and implementation of the next Pay Commissions will have to see that the period prescribed for future recommendations requires a lesser period, say about five years.

    minimum wages as demanded is justified.the anomalies in the pay scale in respect of JWMs in ordnance factories to be solved.Previously they are enjoying more basic pay than AWMs and Matrons.But from 5th pay commission they are getting lower pay than this two grades.this anomalies must be solved.They should be given higher scale than AWM and Matron._SIDDHARTHA BHOWMIK,MSF,ICHAPUR,W.B
