The Naval Chief Lauded and also urged the NCC Cadets to join the armed forces and serve the motherland

Naval Chief Lauds NCC Cadets at DGNCC Republic Day Camp 2013

Chief of Naval Staff Admiral DK Joshi visited the DG NCC Republic Day Camp-2013 here today. Speaking on the occasion, he praised the Cadets for presenting an impressive `Guard of Honour`. He said that NCC was a premier youth organization single mindedly engaged in grooming Nation`s Future leaders, empowering them to don the mantle of Country`s leadership as well as excel in all walks of life.

The Naval Chief also highlighted the noble contributions of NCC Cadets towards Nation Building and also for their indomitable spirits and empathy during Disaster Management. He also urged the NCC Cadets to join the armed forces and serve the motherland to the best of their abilities. He congratulated the Guard for impeccable turnout and spectacular drill and the band for an outstanding melodic rendition.

Earlier on his arrival, the admiral was received by Director General, National Cadet Corps, Lieutenant General P.S. Bhalla. The Admiral reviewed an impressive ‘Guard of Honour’ by smartly turned out Cadets drawn from all the three Wings namely Army, Navy and Air Force followed, by a brilliant, Band Display by Cadets from Scindia School Gwalior led by Band Major Cadet Anand Prakash, playing enchanting Marital tunes like Kadam Kadam Badhaye Ja, Sam Manekshaw, and Waven Flag. The ‘Scindia School Band’ enthralled the audiences by their spectacular display with 43 musical instruments played by 44 Band artists.

This was followed by a dazzling Lazium display by NCC Cadets from Maharashtra Directorate dressed in various hues and infusing the environs with verve and enthusiasm. Later the CNS, visited the Flag Area to witness the colourful display of Tableaux by States Contingents on various contemporary socio- economic themes.

The Naval Chief thereafter visited the NCC `Hall of Fame` where he was briefed by Cadets. The Admiral was then driven around the NCC Camp `Rajpath`, the road lined with structures on either side for accommodating Cadets of different State Contingents. On display at Rajpath were myriad structures beautifully draped and decorated with motiffs, Banters, Statues, Banners, Models, and Flags depicting “Unity in Diversity` of our Great Nation. The Naval Chief later witnessed a sterling cultural performance by multi talented Cadets based on rich Indian Culture in the NCC Auditorium.
