  1. The Director (PP),
Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare,
    Lok Nayak Bhawan,
    Khan Market,
    New Delhi – 110 003.

    Respected Sir,
Sub:- Payment of Dearness Relief to re-employed pensioners and employed family pensioners post implementation of Sixth Pay Commission.

Ref.:- Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances& Pensions Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare Circular No. 45/73/97-P&PW (G) dated 2nd July 1999(Copy enclosed).

With reference to subject matter referred above I have to state that, post implementation of sixth pay commission many pre-revised scales are merged and instead of different Pay Scales, four distinct running pay bands are introduced along with different Grade Pays. Grade Pay determines the status of a post. within the same pay bands there are different grade pays .On promotion / absorptions / re-employment within the same pay bands only Grade pay changes hence question of fixations of pays in minimum of the pay scales should not arise at all within the same pay bands.

With reference to above mentioned circular of Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances& Pensions Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare, post implementation of sixth pay commission component of dearness allowances still paid to absorbee /reemployed pensioners who satisfies the condition as mentioned in Para 3(a)of the above mentioned circular.

In view of it the changes in the structure of pay scale i.e. from Pay Scale to Pay Band along with new concept of Grade pay, above referred circular need amendment.

An early action in this regard is awaited.
